Learning Russian by listening

Listen to the Russian dialogues, audio recordings at our website and live TV or radio programmes as often as you can!

When listening to recordings do it as many times as you like but avoid looking into the transcript. Check whether you understood it correctly only after listening for a few times. If you don't know or can't recognise some words try to get the meaning from the context.

Sometimes you might be even given a new vocabulary before listening so make sure you familiarise yourself with them before moving on. Listen to the audio as many times as you like, but don't refer to the transcripts for as long as possible.

Take some time to work through new Russian Vocabulary and Grammar doing a necessary exercises in order to get familiar with it and memorise it. Making your own examples with new vocabulary, writing a summary or in some cases answering the questions after listening are highly recommended when you work with listening.

Don't be shy and practice everything you have learnt by speaking! Do it as often as possible!

If you need extra help from professional Russian tutors we are here to help!
